Ergasilus en peces

Ergasilus es un parásito Copépodo que se aferra a las agallas de los peces y es frecuente en peces de agua dulce, salobre y marina . Es el género más conocido de la familia Ergasilidae.

Introducción:

Este parásito llamado Ergasiulus nada contra la corriente, lo cual aprovecha para parasitar en las agallas aferrándose con dos apéndices
en forma de gancho, alli seguiran aprovechando la corriente de agua que circula.

Levantando el Opérculo del pez se los puede var a simple vista por su color blanquesino o azulado con su terminación en dos sacos ( los cuales tienen un centenar de huevos cada uno ) y mejor con una lupa, las especies varían de 0,62 a 1 mm.

El mas usual de encpntrar es el Ergasilus Sieboldi, pero hay mas variedades de este género.

Otras especies de este género son:
E. boettgeri, en peces del género Mollienesia;
E.briani, en peces de agua dulce;
E. sardi, en Synodontis y Tylochromis;
E. cunningtoni, en Tylochromis, Pelmatochromis y
Distich odus
E. kandti, en Pelmatochromis.

 

Ciclo de vida:

Los Ergasilus desovan a plena agua y pasan por una etapa de nauplio, los machos viven aproximadamente 14 días y mueren tras de soltar los espermatóforos, las hembras fertilizadas causan la Ergasilosis, se fijan a las agallas de peces y sus huevos eclosionan a los 3-6 días pasando por sus distintas etapas larvarias.

El desarrollo para las hembras es de 10-70 días, variando según la temperatura y pueden vivir  cerca de un año.

Parasitan en las agallas y fosas nasales de los peces.

 

Síntomas:

Externamente no se presentan síntomas visibles en peces, estos parásitos se aferran a las branquias y producen una malestia muy intensa en los peces.

Salvo caso de ataques de demasiados Ergasilus, en ese caso se notará adelgazamiento del pez afectado,

Se los puede detectar con observacion con una camara con zoom si se puede ver las branquias del pez a revisar, o se lo debe sacar y abrir un poco el operculo para obsevar las agallas.
 

 

Prevención:

Realizar siempre cuarentena y revisión de peces nuevos y darle óiptimas condiciones a los peces pues sus de sus defensas inmunologicas depende los daños que podra producir al pez. no sobrepoblar, óptima calidad del agua y alimentación, etc...

 

Tratamientos:

Los tratamientos contra Ergasilus pueden realizarse en los tanques o estanques de cría, o en tanques alternativos que contengan sólo a los peces afectados.

Algunos son:

- Empleo de Lice-Solve (Mectinsol), se disuelven 4 g/1000l. El agua debe estar bien oxigenada mientras se lleva a cabo el tratamiento. Se deja actuar durante 12 horas y se cambia el agua.

El tratamiento se repite durante un mes para acabar con todos los huevos y, posteriormente, se realizará una vez al año para controlar la reaparición del parásito.

- Dilución de 10 mg/l de permanganato potásico durante 20-30 minutos en tanques con peces afectados, o de 2 mg/l en tanques con la totalidad de los peces.

- Adición de triclorfón: 0,25 mg/l en tanques o 0,5 mg/l en estanques de forma prolongada.

- Baños continuos en NaCl(10 g/l) durante 3 días.

- Baños con formalina (2,5 ml. de formol 40% en  10 litros de agua durante 30 minutos)

Y por supuesto esto combinar con óptima calidad del agua.
